Armed Man Shot Dead After Breaching Mar-a-Lago Security

What Happened Austin Tucker Martin, 21, of North Carolina, drove through the north gate of Mar-a-Lago as another vehicle was exiting around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2026. According to the Secret Service, Martin was carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can when confronted by agents within the secure perimeter of the Palm Beach resort. When ordered to drop the items, Martin put down the fuel can but raised the shotgun into a shooting position, according to law enforcement officials.
